Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Crosscare Irish Diaspora Support Project!

St. Patrick’s Day 2024 marks “Ireland’s future in the world.” Amplifying the voices of our younger population at home, abroad, and in our affinity diaspora, we celebrate the achievements of this generation in creativity, innovation, business, academia, volunteerism, peacebuilding, and public service. Office Closure

Our office will be closed Monday, 18 March in observance of the holiday. We are unable to respond to any queries during this time, but please do feel free to get in touch and we will respond in due course upon our return. We look forward to re-opening on Tuesday, 19 March.

In the meantime, please feel free to browse our website for information on leaving or returning to Ireland. If you find yourself or someone you know in need of urgent assistance during this period, please refer to the emergency resources on our Get Help page.

Emotional Support

Although St. Patrick’s Day can be great craic abroad, it can also bring up challenging emotions for Irish abroad – homesickness especially. Know that this is very common, and be kind to yourself. Planning contact with loved ones at home or being around other Irish abroad on Paddy’s Day (our Irish Diaspora Directory lists organisations that may be hosting gatherings this weekend) may help you cope if you find yourself missing Ireland.  For more tips on minding yourself and support resources, visit the minding yourself page.
