Hosted by the Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys, TD, the Forum offered a unique opportunity for over 60 representatives from NGOs and community groups to discuss policy issues and present their priorities for the upcoming 2025 Budget.

The event was chaired by broadcaster Mary Kennedy and featured remarks from Department of Social Protection Secretary General John McKeon and Minister of State for Community Development, Integration and Charities Joe O’Brien, TD. Speaking on the importance of the annual Forum, Minister O’Brien said:
“The Forum is always a hugely important event – providing an opportunity for organisations to set out their priorities for the upcoming budget and therefore help Minister Humphreys and I to enter Budget negotiations and make the strongest case possible for additional resources to be included in the Budget’s Social Welfare package.”
