Considering a move to Ireland from the United States? Thanks to our global Irish partners at the Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers and the Irish Diaspora Center (Philadelphia), you can now watch a comprehensive webinar series on-demand on all things moving to Ireland to help you prepare.

Held September 2023 – June 2024, Moving to Ireland was designed as an interactive seminar series for people contemplating a move to Ireland, Irish and otherwise. The monthly series consisted of ten information sessions on various topics related to moving to Ireland from the United States, including:

  • Financial considerations
  • Where to start (research)
  • Healthcare
  • Personal anecdotes and building a social network
  • Employment
  • Education access
  • Immigration factors
  • Housing and packing logistics
  • Retirement

We were honoured to contribute to two sessions, along with our colleagues from Citizens Information and Crosscare Migrant Project. The first session we participated in (held in October 2023) was titled ‘Where to Start – Research’ and offered an overview of available information resources for people making the move and initial considerations. You can watch the full session below.

In collaboration with Crosscare Migrant Project Manager Richard King, Crosscare Irish Diaspora Support Project Leader Sarah Owen also shared her expertise to the ‘Immigration Factors’ session in February, lending our expertise on supporting Irish citizens navigating the Irish immigration process with non-Irish family members. You can watch back the full presentation below.

Congratulations to our American-based colleagues on putting together a successful series that will undoubtedly be a tremendous resource for anyone looking to move to Ireland – we were grateful to be involved.
